Organizers & Allies Committee
The CNDC Organizers & Allies Committee is a “grass roots” cooperative of anyone involved in community organizing throughout the network of the Cleveland area community development corporations and non-profit agencies. The committee meets the first Thursday of each month from 11:30 am until 1:00 pm. The meeting agendas usually involve invited guests who have information and tools that are shared with the network, to stay informed about what is happening in the City of Cleveland and as a forum to share experiences and ideas. Collaboration and fellowship are critical components of this committee, who also periodically conducts special field trips to enrich members' experience as community organizers. The group publishes a monthly e-newletter, including meeting minutes.

Community organizers and allies attended a six week workshop series that gave community organizing staff a rich and practical set of new learnings, connections to a mentor network and ongoing opportunities for peer learning that will support their success in community organizing. The sessions were educational, experiential, and on-the-ground practical, featuring success stories to enrich the sessions. At the last session, participants formed small Communities of Practice for ongoing peer learning and resource sharing beyond the workshops. The workshops were facilitated by Jack Ricchiuto.
